Lot 1573

1938-D. NGC graded MS-65. Nice white example. Fully struck and brilliant throughout with no distracting abrasions present. Mathematically exact standards would seen in the sharp centers, but this date is noteworthy for its "average" detail in the key hand area where it passes across the thigh. As it is, the coin is squarely in gem quality. Mintage: 491,600 pieces, lowest in the 1930s or 1940s (PCGS # 6605) .
Estimated Value $1,050 - 1,150.

Realized $1,208
