Lot 1554

1919-D Liberty Walking Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-64. Even dark grey and gold toning on both sides. Very rare date. Struck with systematic exactness throughout excepting the usual weak areas in the center such as Liberty's hand and upper skirt lines. This issue, which every collector quickly learns is almost unavailabe in Mint condition, can be anything from brilliant to deeply toned. Here, we see the careful handling of many years where it may have resided in an old craft paper coin envelope before being submitted for grading. The coin is strictly choice, well within the Mint State 64 classification, and has all the endearing properties that bidders want to see. Pop 59; 4 in 65. (PCGS # 6578) .
Estimated Value $25,000 - 30,000.
