Lot 149

1840 Liberty Seated Half Dime. Drapery. PCGS graded MS-62. Well struck and toned. A toned yet very presentable Choice MS62 that has attractive fields and devices. Struck with systematic exactness throughout Liberty, stars, the shield and wreath. The 1840 Gobrecht-inspired issue is considerably scarcer than either the No Drapery 1838 or 1839 as this was a year when the mint adopted the less delicate With Drapery format (PCGS # 4326) .
Estimated Value $450 - 500.
