Lot 12

1794 C-1a R3 AG3. Slightly sharper but lightly corroded causing parts of the date and legends to be unreadable. No verdigris. The notable marks are several dull rim nicks or bruises on both sides, the strongest of these over RI in AMERICA. The date is very weak with only traces of the 1 and 94 visible, and perhaps two-thirds of the legends can be made out. However, sufficient detail remains visible to be certain of the C-1a attribution. Unfortunately Carvin Goodridge had this piece attributed as the ultra rare C-5b variety, which would have provided a highlight for this sale even in such a low grade. Weight 101.4 grains.
Estimated Value $150-UP.
Ex Ray Senchuck collection 4/6/1990.

Realized $207
