Lot 1127

1848 N-22 R1 PCGS graded MS63 Brown. Frosty steel brown and light chocolate with traces of mint red on the obverse. Virtually void of defects. A microscopic speck of crud between the tops of the A & M in AMERICA can help identify this cent. MDS, die state c, with two parallel lines through the base of the T in CENT. Our grade is MS62, tied for CC#2 in the Grellman census. A common variety that's difficult to find in top grades. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 2; 1 finer in 64BN.
Estimated Value $300-UP.
Ex Bill Yates, McCawley & Grellman Auctions 6/5/93:347.
