Lot 1115

1848 N-10 R3 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown. Lustrous mint red fading to steel brown and light olive with more than a third of the original mint color remaining on both sides. The only marks are some insignificant specks of darker toning scattered over the obverse, the largest of these on the rim above star 6. MDS, die state c. The reverse is starting to sink at UNITED STA. Our grade is consistent with the slab grade. Tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. Pop 1; none finer at PCGS in RB.
