Lot 1080

1846 N-20 R3 MS63. Very attractive and highly lustrous bluish steel and light olive. Faint hints of underlying very faded mint red are bleeding through in a few places on the reverse. Satiny mint frost covers the planchet and the eye appeal is exceptional. No spots or stains and only a few trivial marks, including a pinprick right of the second A in AMERICA are a few very faint hairlines at STA in STATES. M-LDS, die state b. The tiny die lines from the dentils under star 13 are gone. Tied for CC#1 honors with one other piece in the Grellman census.
Estimated Value $500-UP.
Ex Tom Reynolds 4/23/94.

Realized $1,668
