1880 Trade Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 64. Nice even toning. 1,987 minted. While Mint State examples are occasionally available through the years 1873 to 1878, Proofs are elusive in the later Trade Dollar series (1879 to 1883). This is a sleek toned survivor that is indicative of an even higher grade. The surface ranges from steel-blue to dusky purple iridescence, evenly matched on both sides. Pop 154; 87 finer; 58 in 65; 26 in 66; 3 in 67. (PCGS # 7060) .
