1847 N-4 R3 Repunched 18 PCGS graded MS65 Brown, CAC Approved. Frosty uniform light to medium chocolate brown and steel with a hint of light bluish steel overtone in protected areas. Satiny mint luster covers this cent and the eye appeal is excellent. Essentially flawless. The best identifying marks are a miniscule rim nick over the right top of the N in UNITED and a tiny tick under the second T in STATES. Sharply struck MDS die state c early, with fine die cracks on the reverse. The repunching on the 18 is obvious. Our grade is MS63, tied for CC#4 in the Grellman census. The attribution is noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 2; tied for finest graded at PCGS for the variety. Estimated Value $1,000-UP

Ex Chris McCawley 4/14/2015-Fred Iskra Collection.
