1823 Capped Bust Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64 Overton-103, R-2. First generation holder. Nice original toning. An exciting coin. A high degree of cartwheel luster spins gracefully on the satiny, naturally toned surfaces of this otherwise bright and elusive early Capped Bust half dollar. The reverse is the side with more developed patina. Meanwhile, the strike is crisp in most central areas, though some light weakness occurs at the obverse stars. Pop 35; 6 finer; 5 in 65; 1 in 66.
