Wilson, Woodrow and William Jennings Bryant. Partly-printed document signed as President, 1p, 18¾ x 23", Washington, Nov. 24, 1913. Countersigned by "W.J. Bryant" as Secretary of State. Appointing Henry D. Baker of Illinois "Consul of the United States of America at Bombay, India" and requesting that His Britannic Majesty (George V) permit Baker "fully and peaceably to enjoy the said office, without giving, or suffering to be given unto him, any molestation or trouble, but…to afford him all proper countenance and assistance…" Intact paper seal at lower left. Very good; paper is toned overall, with small repairs on verso, a few worm holes in blank areas, and some marginal discoloration. Signatures are bold.
