Antique German Broadsword of Walloon Form, Early 17th Century. Outstanding antique German broadsword ca. early to middle 17th century. Straight double-edged blade marked with the German "running wolf" symbol and the number 1414 within the fuller on both sides of blade. Double sided pierced guard, single down turened quillon toward blade, single knuckle guard, globular pommel and twisted wire grip with "Turk's Head" ferrules. No scabbard. Published/Illustrated in Newman's Swords of the Revolution. Blade 35", overall length 41". $2,500 - 4,000
