1797 C-2 R3 G4. Slightly Off Center; Struck over 1794 TAL Cent with NEW YORK. Very slightly sharper where properly struck but there is minor roughness above the head and cap. Otherwise the surfaces are decent for the grade. Rather glossy chocolate brown. The date and legends are readable, although a few letters are relatively weak. Ample undertype from the TAL Cent shows on the reverse, including the RK from YORK at ES in STATES. Struck 5% off center to K-7. Weight 87.3 grains.
