1854 C-1 R1+ MS64. Very attractive lustrous olive and bluish steel brown with mellowed mint red covering 20% of the planchet. Sharply struck and essentially flawless. A barely visible rim nick at star 12 is the best identifying mark. MDS, Manley state 1.0. The repunching left of the base of the 1 is clear. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS66 Red & Brown (NGC label included, and it shows the attribution). A choice piece, nearly gem.
