Lot 740

1825 C-1 R3 EF40+. Slightly sharper but there is a very dull scratch on the nose and a small spot of reddish verdigris in the field over the back of the head. Very attractive glossy light chocolate brown with hints of very faded mint color showing through in a couple places on the reverse. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0 early. The die crack down through the head reaches the curl on the neck but there is no hint of the "egg-shaped" die clashmark near the leaf at F-A. In addition, there is a sharp raised collar notch on the edge at star 12.
Estimated Value $400-UP.

Realized $633
