Lot 715

1810 C-1 R1 MS60. Lustrous chocolate and darker steel blending to olive brown. There are traces of reddish steel faded down from mint color in a few of the protected areas. The only notable marks are a spot of slightly darker chocolate toning on the bust and a small planchet flake at the top of the O in OF (as struck). Satiny mint frost covers the fields and protected areas, especially on the reverse. Nicely struck EDS, the earliest seen, before the obverse die began to wear down and the details became mushy. A premium example of the date. Removed from an NGC slab graded MS64 Brown (NGC label included, and it includes the attribution).
Estimated Value $4,000-UP.
