Lot 709

1844 N-5 R1 First 4 Repunched NGC graded MS62 Brown. Very attractive glossy light to medium chocolate brown. Frosty luster shows in some of the protected areas and this cent offers excellent eye appeal. There is a hint of friction on the highpoints of the devices and a few tiny ticks, none notable. A spot of slightly darker toning under star 8 can help identify this cent. LDS, die state d, with a bold rim cud break from below the 18 to star 1. The repunching at the top of the first 4 is still visible. Our grade is AU50. Pop 25; 62 finer at NGC. Estimate Value $300 - UP
