Lot 708

1809 C-2 R3 VF35. Slightly sharper but there is a light rim bruise at star 13. Otherwise this piece is quite attractive for the grade with smooth surfaces and only trivial contact marks. Glossy olive and steel with traces of frosty lighter steel brown in protected areas. Sharply struck MDS, Manley state 2.0, with a fine die crack passing through stars 8-13. The reverse is rotated 175 degrees CW, upset nearly head-to-head. A nice half cent that comes with an impressive provenance.
Estimated Value $1,000-UP.
Ex J. L. Brobston, Stack's FPL 1962-R. L. Schonwalter, Stack's 1/21/03:1167.

Realized $2,243
