Lot 687

1869 Indian Head Cent. NGC graded MS-65 Red S-3, with/Eagle Eye Photo Cert. Old holder. A copper red specimen glowing with original mint bloom whose fiery surface displays the cartwheel look of a freshly minted coin. That being the case, this date is also difficult to find fully struck. The present 1869 cent retains bold detail to the word LIBERTY as well as the feather ends, ribbon with its diamond pattern, and all leaves on the wreath. Clearly, the coin resulted from a strictly above-average strike. Pop 8; 2 finer in 66. (PCGS # 2095) .
Estimated Value $5,500 - 6,000.
