Lot 652

1853 Liberty Seated Quarter Dollar. Arrows and rays. NGC graded MS-63. Lightly toned in gold on the obverse, with a patch of blue at upper left. The reverse is very colorful, combining reds and blues at the peripheries, surrounding a center of gold. The arrowheads on either side of the date and the sunny rays on the reverse were signals that the weight had been reduced to make the production of the coins more cost-effective and, hopefully, profitable. A popular type coin that is always in demand.
Estimated Value $1,300 - 1,500.

Realized $2,760
