Lot 638

1797 Draped Bust Dime. 16 stars. NGC graded EF-40. Well distributed and definitely "old silver" patina with russet and blue-gray accents, some areas are more deeply toned than others. There are numerous but fine hairline scratches under the toning, plus some slight planchet adjustment lines made at the time of issue. This is an otherwise decently struck example, with nice detail to all the important high points, with the possible exception of these regions (standard for the issue): central hair curls and "lovelock" at Liberty's ear; the eagle's neck and head, plus the upper portion of STATES. Pop 1; 6 finer. A total of 12 graded by NGC.
Estimated Value $5,000 - 5,500.

Realized $7,188
