Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 65

Lot 614

1846 N-25 R5 Tall Date F15. Sharpness VF35 but the surfaces are a bit dull and covered with extremely fine roughness. No contact marks but there is some very fine verdigris dusted into the protected areas on both sides. The only notable mark is a small planchet flake on the rim over the I in AMERICA. LDS, die state c, with shallow crumbling connecting the tops of the C & E in CENT and joining 7 dentils at their roots below the stem end. A variety that is very tough to find nice, this being one of the sharpest.
Estimated Value $150-UP.
Ex Wendell Kot.
