A worldly dose of heavy matte finish to the luster enlivens the broad expanse of smooth surface on this handsome Proof from 1916. The fields are virtually gem quality, while the strike is bold enough to warrant special mention. In this year, the mint revised its master hub by strengthening the beard, hair, and wheat ears.
