Lot 581

1850 N-21 R1 PCGS graded MS64 Red & Brown, CAC approved. Lustrous mint red fading to light steel brown on the highpoints, about 75% of the mint color remaining. The only mark of any consequence is a small spot of darker steel toning hidden in the hair above the R in LIBERTY. Probably would rate a higher grade is it wasn't a hoard coin. LDS, die state c, with rim cud breaks at TES and F-A, the usual hoard die state for this variety. A great type coin. Our grade is MS63+. The attribution and Carvin Goodridge provenance are shown on the PCGS label. PCGS population 1; 1 in 65RB.
Estimated Value $350-UP.
Ex Bowers & Merena 11/10/1986:80-Carvin Goodridge collection (lot ticket included).

Realized $949
