Lot 580

1819 N-2 R1 Large Date. PCGS graded MS-64 Brown. Glossy steel brown and light chocolate blending to darker chocolate and olive on the reverse. Satiny mint frost covers the protected areas, especially on the reverse, and traces of faded mint red can be found on both sides. The best identifying mark is a small spot of darker toning over the left side of the O in ONE. Nicely struck EDS. The fields are smooth on both sides. Sharp repunching shows on the 8 and what may be evidence of a 9 over 8 overdate is clearly visible as well. Our grade is AU58+, very close to mint state. A nice example of a preferred die state.
Estimated Value $800-UP.

Realized $1,265
