1844 John Williams Missionary Ship Medal. Made by J. Davis Birmingham, London Missionary Society, white metal, 40mm. Extra fine. The sailing ship is pictured on one side, with "Launched at Harwich Mar. 20 1844" and information on the size of the ship. The back states that the ship is the property of the London Missionary Society and "is intended to convey its missionaries to the islands of the South Pacific…."
