1897 Barber Half Dollar. PCGS graded Proof 68 Deep Cameo. Show-stopping, blast white surfaces with heavy cameo devices. In an old, green-label holder, meaning that the grading is strict and that no credit was given (as it would be, if graded today) for the strong cameos. We suspect (but do not guarantee, of course) that this coin will come back as a PR-68 DCAM if resubmitted. PCGS has graded only 7 examples at this level, with none higher. A remarkable coin that should see fierce bidding (PCGS # 6544) .
