Lot 421

1936 Elgin Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66 PQ. Nice original toning. A lustrous example that has dazzling snow white brilliance mellowed only partway by the original pearl gray toning, deepest (golden amber) at the periphery. Almost everyone likes to seek an Elgin that was struck with precision and care by the dies in the outer margins and on all legends that you'd expect; here too, the inner portrait of the pioneer was also left crisply detailed by the imprint of the dies. Elgins are unique for their very heavy mint frost (PCGS # 9303) .
Estimated Value $400 - 450.
