Lot 4088

1800 $10 Capped Bust. NGC graded MS-60. Frosty mint luster on both sides, with only moderate handling marks generally located in the fields. Well struck for this scarce date, and seldom found in grades even approaching mint state. There is a minor scrape extending down in the obverse field from the inner point of the third star, and a tiny mark just between the left claw of the eagle and the U of UNITED. Coppery toning on the high points of the devices and quite pleasant in appearance. There is some minor residue on the TED of UNITED and near the left wing of the eagle. Early die state, with the obverse crack just beginning through LIBERTY, and with the dentils clashed above STAT from the obverse die. Celebrating its 200th anniversary this year, making this a good time to put it away.
Estimated Value $13,000 - 15,000.

Realized $17,250
