(U.S.S. Pueblo Memorabilia) Captain Pete Bucher. Memorabilia from the commander of the USS Pueblo, which was attacked on January 23, 1968 by North Korean naval vessels and MiG jets. One man was killed and 82 crew members were captured and held prisoner for 11 months. Items include: a copy of Bucher: My Story (New York: Doubleday & Co., 1970) inscribed and signed, "For Dorothy McLeventy, with warmest regards, L.B. Cdr. USN"; with a "USS Pueblo / Ager-2" patch, two different pieces of stationery from the Pueblo, a 1999 check signed by Bucher, and a white (soiled) dress shirt embroidered "L.M. "Pete" B" on one cuff. (6 items).
