Lot 381

1819 N-2 R1 Large Date PCGS graded AU58. Frosty medium brown with slightly darker steel brown highpoints. An attractive cent but there are a few too many light contact marks for the grade. A small nick just left of the second 1 in the date and a dull one in the hair over the E in LIBERTY, plus a faint scuff just right of star 3 are the notable marks, and they are trivial. M-LDS with clear die rust at the top of the obverse and bottom of the reverse. A tiny but clearly visible rim cud break shows under star 1. The repunching on the 9 is weak but visible. Our grade is AU50 sharpness net EF45. The attribution and Fricke provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 5; 11 finer for the variety. Estimate Value $400 - UP
