Monroe, Marilyn (1926-1962) Born in Los Angeles as Norma Jean Mortenson, Monroe turned her away from her troubled childhood and became a world renowned star and national sexual icon. She played alluring "dumb blonde" roles in How to Marry a Millionaire and Gentlemen Perfer Blondes (both 1953). She showed incredible talent in both The Seven Year Itch (1955) and Some Like It Hot (1959). Monroe was found dead on the morning of August 5, 1962 at her Los Angeles home with a vial of sleeping pills beside her. Questions still abound about her untimely death.

Cut Signature. On a 3½ x 3" single white slip of paper Marilyn has inscribed her name in full with a blue ball point pen. Elegantly matted on a green metallic background and flanked by two 8 x 10" B & W photos of her with an inscription plaque. Overall size 16 x 29½" On the back of the frame is an envelope inscribed "1952 Original Signature Marilyn Monroe obtained by Roberta at 11 years of age".
Estimated Value $800 - 1,200.
