1839-D $2.50 Classic Head. NGC graded MS-61. Light hint of golder toning. Nice strike/ Only 13,674 minted. Pop 8; 7 finer. A minor nick on the cheek below the eye, another in the field at the brow. A luminous frosty specimen of this rare early style by William Kneass, and of optimum value for the grade. The mintmark is positioned above the date in 1839 (PCGS # 7700) .
