Marcian, 450-457 AD. Gold Solidus (4.45g), Constantinople, struck c. 451-457 AD. Scarce. Diademed, helmeted, and cuirassed bust three-quarters facing, with spear and shield. Reverse: Victory standing left, holding jeweled long cross, star at right. Wreath-like borders front and back; Officina Z. RIC 510. Sharp, and highly lustrous. Superb Mint State.
