Laine, Frankie. Popular singer nicknamed "Mr. Rhythm" and "Old Leather Lungs", with 21 Gold Records including "That's My Desire", "Believe", "Mule Train" and "Jezebel". At the peak of his career from 1947 to 1954, Laine was a fixture on popular radio, outselling Sinatra, Como, Bennett, Damone and Crosby.

Autograph Letter Signed. One page, Quarto, on light blue stationary. San Diego, CA, February 26, 1985. Boldly signed in black ink at bottom of letter. Includes transmittal envelope, which bears significant foxing. In part:

"Dear ? & friend (s) / First, let me say, my Deepest Thanx & most Heart felt appreciation to all of you who took the Time & Trouble & Effort to go out of your way to Think about me these last few weeks… gratefully-- / Frankie Laine".
