(1815) Andrew Jackson Military Medal, Choice Uncirculated. Struck by the United States Mint to honor the military victory of future President Andrew Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans. Listed as MI-15 in Robert Julian's magnificent "Medals of the United States Mint." 65 mm, made of mahogany-colored bronze. The dies for this medal were done by Mint Engraver Moritz Furst. The American Numismatic Society has the original gold version of this medal presented to Andrew Jackson -- it was reportedly found in a pawnshop! Estimated Value $500 - 1,000
