Phoenicia. Tyre, after 128 BC. AR Shekel-Tetradrachm (14.42 gm), struck 100/99 BC. Laureate head of Melqart right, lion skin tied around neck. Reverse: Eagle with closed wings standing left on prow, palm branch under far wing; date ZK (year 27) above club in left field, ΛYM monogram in right field, Phoenician letter aleph between legs. BMC Phoenicia 113 var. (beth intstead of aleph). Lightly toned and lustrous. Extremely Fine.
