Lot 35

1797 C-2 R3. VF-25. Glossy light olive and steel brown. The surfaces are smooth and virtually void of contact marks, but there is a small planchet fissure on the edge right of the bust tip and at the opposing rim above the first A in AMERICA, as struck. There is a faint fingerprint in the field before the forehead suggesting this piece may have been lightly cleaned and retoned long ago. Regardless, the color and eye appeal of this half cent are excellent. EDS with the reverse rotated 10 degrees CCW. Weight 88.8 grains.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.
Ex Mary Sauvain 7/29/93.

Realized $3,105
