Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 1

Lot 345

Half Dollar. 1841. NGC graded MS-65. This is likely the very Finest Known 1841 Half Dollar. It is the only coin so graded by NGC, and PCGS hasn't graded any gems. A glance will see why, the surfaces are free of all but the smallest contact ticks, and the luster is full and complete. The fields have a delicate rose-gold tone on both sides. During shipping the NGC holder has a short crack on the reverse, which will likely show up in the photograph, but this does not affect the coin, and hopefully the next owner will have the coin reholdered. Strongly struck with full details on Liberty and the eagle on the reverse. An outstanding gem coin that will be a highlight in any collection it graces.

Realized $3,960
