Lot 3389

Italy. Venice. Banco Giro Del Venezia. 100 Ducati, 1 Oct 1798. Serial number 1291. P-S183. A lovely note in Choice EF-AU condition and very scarce this nice.
During this period, there were many types of Venetian coins of varying finenesses and standards circulating concurrently. The Ducato was a small crown size coin having a net weight of .6217 of an ounce of silver, thus a 100 Ducati banknote represented a considerable sum of money rarely seen by the average Venetian, especially in the turbulent times of that era.
Estimated Value $100 - 200.

Realized $403
