Lot 3323

Great Britain. Bronzed Proof Penny, 1841. S.3948; KM-739. Victoria, 1837-1901. Obverse: Wyon's young portrait of Queen left. Reverse: Britannia seated right with shield and trident. A stunning coin with a light blue and brown patina. Very rare in any high grade, this is a coin which seldom appears for sale. Peck only lists the Fred Baldwin specimen, which may be this piece. Many many times rarer than the 1839 Proof Penny, the 1841 Proof is probably under rated in the catalogues. In a new NGC 4 prong holder. NGC graded Proof 64 Brown.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,400.

Realized $2,645
