Titus, 79-81 AD., as Caesar. AE Sestertius, Rome, struck 72 AD. . Hen-793. Rare. Laureate head right. Reverse: Victory right, semi-draped with foot on helmet, inscribes shield attached to palm. RIC 614; BMCRE 638; Hendin 793. Finely centered, lovely style front and back. Good metal, although some residual deposits remain on the obverse. Mellow brass to deep brown patina. Very Fine.
Estimated Value $450 - 650.
This reverse celebrates the success of Vespasian and Titus in subduing the First Jewish Revolt.
