[Crawford, Joan] (1904- 1977) Leading lady during the golden era of Hollywood. Won an Oscar in 1945 for her eponemous performance in Mildred Pierce. Mommie Dearest, a very disparaging biography written by her adopted daughter came out after the actress's death.
