Kingdom of Axum. Endubis, c. AD 270-290. Gold Aureus of Reduced Weight or Gold Unit (2.68 g). Draped bust right of Endubis flanked by grain stalks; above, disc and crescent. Reverse: Draped bust right of Endubis flanked by grain stalks, above, disc and crescent. Munro-Hay AV.1. About Extremely Fine.

This gold coin was struck under the first pagan king of Ethiopia; later, the kingdom was converted to Christianity around the time of Constantine the Great, c. AD 330. The reverse legend translates to "Endubis, King of the Aksumites. Man of Dakhu".
