Lot 3126

1894 Morgan Dollar. PCGS graded MS-63. Frosty with a hint of light toning. A popular low mintage date. Far and away the second lowest mintage among P-mint Morgan Dollars, and the third lowest (after the 1893-S) among all Morgan strikes including Proofs in this series. One of just 110,000 pieces reported struck, this coin is sure to work its way into a Choice Uncirculated date set. The strike is much sharper than average, one might easily say bold, with pretty strong definition over the highest, most hair waves and breast feathers of the design. As often occurs, there are a few small bagmarks on Liberty's cheek, but the virtual absence of sizeable marks and the free-flowing frosty luster give this particular specimen the eye appeal associated with the grade (PCGS # 7228) .
Estimated Value $4,000 - 4,400.

Realized $4,830
