Britain. Celtic Coinage, Iceni. Early Freckenham type, c. 45-40 BC. Gold Stater (5.46 g). Opposed crescents with triple pellets above and below. Reverse: Celticized horse right; above and to left, ring of pellets. Van Arsdell 620-7 [as ER]. Very Fine to Extremely Fine.

For the last two decades, the "headquarters" for Celtic finds has been at Norfolk. The Frekenham type was minted locally around Norfolk, earlier than the inscribed issues.
