Barrymore, John. A choice quality letter in which he mentions working on "Hamlet" makes this letter quite a treasure. (1882-1942) Great American stage and screen star. Of the talented Barrymore family, John was perhaps the most famous of the three Barrymore children (Lionel and Ethel were his older siblings).

Autograph Letter Signed. Two pages, Octavo, on The Ambassador Hotel embossed letterhead, New York, October 25, 1922. To Miss (Georgia) Long. In answer to her request Barrymore writes:

"Believe me, I shall do everything in my power to come on the 27th. I am working at night now on "Hamlet," as we rehearse all day and open earlier than expected. If these exigencies prevent my being there in the flesh, I most certainly will be there in the spirit. I am very fond of Mr. Simmons and would hate to miss it. Believe me, yours most sincerely. John Barrymore."

Fine.
Estimated Value $300 - 500.

Realized $345
