Mexico. Pillar Eight Reales, 1752 Mo M. KM-104.1. Ferdinand VI, 1746-59. Mexico City Mint. The rosettes in the reverse legend are a bit flat, but otherwise this is a well struck example with fully lustrous surfaces exhibiting a velvety frost with pale golden-mauve toning and Rare in this upper grade level.
This coin is most likely from the 1950s Mexico City Subway Treasure, when construction workers digging the subway tunnels, discovered a cache of pillar coinage from the 1750s, many in very choice condition, as is this specimen. NGC graded MS-63.
Estimated Value $2,000 - 2,500.

Realized $3,910
