Frederiks 50 Years of Service, 1908. Diakov 1446.1 (R1), Sm 1375. Uniformed bust of Frederiks r. / Anniversary dates with five-line legend at center. Trivial reverse deposits. Uncirculated 3) Miniature framed obverse and reverse illustrations of the medals above. Pebbled, turquoise deluxe leather covers; maker’s imprint in gold letters on back: "A. Peterson, Demidev Court 9, St. Petersburg. Inset, beveled glass panes over meticulous illustrations at left and right – the illustrations possibly by Griliches. Very well preserved 4) A second miniature framed medal illustrations ‘album’ as above. Very well preserved 5) Imperial Russian Court Calendar for the Year 1910. 4 x 5 ½ inches. Deluxe veined, green leather covers with raised black wood framing and gold imprint "1910" on spine; gold-edged pages. Important church and court dates with individual pages and appropriate space for notes. Private pencil notations in French on some of the pages. 6) Directory and Protocol of the Imperial Russia Court for the Year 1911. 4 ½ x 5 ¾ inches. Red leather covers; gold imprint: "(Imperial eagle) ?????????? ????????? 1911" on front, repeated on spine; gold-edged pages. Very well preserved. 7) Framed black & white photo of the Tsarevich Alexei Nikolaevich with Count Frederiks. 7 x 5 7/8" matted and in contemporary frame. Set aboard the Imperial yacht Standart, the Count, uniformed and festooned with Orders and decorations, stands next to the young Romanov heir apparent, who wears a sailor’s uniform. Inscribed in French on the back. The photo pristine, the frame missing part of lower border at right, otherwise well-preserved (Lot of 7, only 6 illustrated), Very well preserved. Provenance: from the family of the late Count V.B. Frederiks. The Finno-Russian statesman, Vladimir Borisovich Frederiks (Adolf Andreas Woldemar Freedericksz; 1838-1927), was appointed in 1897, at the age of 60, Imperial Household Minister. Praised by the French ambassador as "the very personification of court life," Frederiks held his position until the abdication of Nicholas II in 1917. He was responsible for the administration of the Imperial family’s personal affairs and living arrangements, as well as the awarding of Imperial honors and medals. During the March Revolution, Frederiks’ home was pillaged and destroyed by fire. He lived in Petrograd until 1924 when he was allowed to go to Finland, where he spent the remaining years of his life.
