C. Vibius Varus, moneyer. AR Denarius minted at Rome, c. 42 BC. Head right of Bacchus (Liber?) wearing wreath of ivy and grapes. Reverse: Panther springing left towards garlanded altar on which rest a thyrsus and mask. Vibia 24; Cr. 494/36; Syd. 1138. Extremely Fine; multicolored, iridescent toning.
